This editorial policy explains how Frontier News researches, writes, checks and updates its content. It also explains how we fund the site and how we keep that separate from our recommendations. Last updated: September 2026.
Our editorial policy on sources
We base factual claims on primary sources wherever possible. These include state government and tourism department websites, official permit portals, government notifications and gazettes, and published schedules from airlines, railways and transport operators. For national rules on Protected and Restricted Area Permits, we refer to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Where a fact affects your safety, money or legal status, such as permit fees or eligibility rules, we link to the official source. That way, you can confirm the detail yourself before you act on it.
How we write
- We write for readers, not for search engines. Every guide should answer a real question clearly.
- We use plain language and explain local terms the first time they appear.
- We say what we do not know. If a rule is unclear or changing, we tell you.
- We do not publish content generated without human review and fact-checking.
Updates and review dates
Rules and conditions in the Northeast change often. Therefore, we review our guides on a regular schedule. We review permit, festival and scheme guides at least once a year, and sooner when an official change is announced. When we make a significant update, we note what changed where useful.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Send corrections to [email protected] with the page link and the detail that needs changing. We review every message. Minor fixes, such as typos, are made quietly. Factual corrections that change advice are noted on the page.
Independence, advertising and affiliate links
